44% of the UC Davis undergraduate population self-identifies as Asian and Pacific Islander, while 33% of the graduate population also self-identifies across these diasporas. This means these students self-identify across the 5 socio-political regions across the continent of Asia and the 3 socio-political regions across the Pacific Islands, including more than 60 countries.

Established in 2021, the Pacific Islander Student Association (PISA) is the inaugural student-led and student-run organization of the Strategic Asian and Pacific Islander Retention Initiative (SAandPIRI) at UC Davis. PISA partners with SAandPIRI and was created to foster community, enhance belonging on campus and advocate for the needs of Pacific Islander (Pasifika) students in the diaspora.
