Undergraduate Program Coordinator and Advisor | Middle East/South Asia Studies and Sociology
Mishaal is the undergraduate program coordinator for Middle East / South Asia Studies (ME/SA) and an advisor for Sociology. She also supports events within MENASA Student Resources and SAandPIRI on behalf of ME/SA Studies. Mishaal identifies as multiracial with Pakistani and Welsh heritage. She was born in New York and raised in the East Bay Area, but also spent a lot of time as a child in United Arab Emirates. Mishaal received a B.A. in Psychology from UC Merced and a M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from New York University.
Prior to joining UC Davis as an academic advisor in March 2019, Mishaal has seven years of experience in the functional area of university housing and residential education. Beyond her advising role, she serves on the leadership team for the UC Davis Asian Pacific American Systemwide Alliance (APASA) and as a member of the Advising for Equity Administrative Advisory Committee (AEAAC). Outside of work, Mishaal serves on the leadership team for NASPA's Transracial Adoptee and Multiracial Knowledge Community (TAMKC). She also volunteers for Delta Delta Delta sorority both nationally and as an alumni advisor for the UC Davis chapter.
